Sunscreen Film Festival
The Sunscreen Film Festival is an annual film festival hosted by the St. Petersburg-Clearwater Film Society Inc., a Florida not-for-profit corporation. Our primary goal is to encourage the creation, production, and exhibition of independent film in Florida through our educational programs and public screenings, thereby increasing awareness and support of local filmmaking as a cultural and economic asset. We hope to continue to consistently entertain and challenge audiences and create memorable moments for filmmakers, special guests, judges and the film-loving public.
Capitol Theatre
The Capitol Theatre is a cultural landmark in Downtown Clearwater bringing world class entertainment in the most intimate setting. It has been a vital part of Downtown Clearwater since its opening on March 21, 1921. The renovation expanded seating to 750, including six private loge boxes, multiple concession stands, a larger lobby, an outdoor balcony that wraps around the building overlooking the beautiful Clearwater causeway, a VIP lounge, Frenchy’s rooftop terrace and more!
Straz Center
Built on an abandoned gravel lot in a city that was lacking cultural offerings, the Straz Center began as the dream of a community. Today the Straz Center is the largest performing arts center in the Southeast and the only one with an on-site performing arts conservatory. In the early 1990s, the Straz Center (then known as Tampa Bay Performing Arts Center) established arts education as a community priority, working closely with area public, private and home school programs to enhance arts education for children throughout the seven-county Tampa Bay area.
