SALLIE HOUSE RENOVATION PROJECT

Since 1990, The Sallie House has served as a safe haven for kids escaping abuse, neglect, or abandonment. But no child should feel like they live in an institution.

Right now, we’re renovating Sallie House to make it feel like what it should be: a true home. That means upgrading everything from flooring, lighting, and furniture to essential HVAC and security systems.

Our most urgent need? Bathroom reconfigurations. State regulations require single-occupancy, meaning up to 10 kids currently share one bathroom—creating chaotic morning routines before school.

We need hands, heart and a lot of funding to make it happen.

Community Learning Center

Community Learning Center offers professional tutoring that is affordable for almost everyone. There is professional tutoring, homeschool help and free assessments. Help is available regardless of income. Students regularly improve a full grade level with less than 30 hours of tutoring.

Did you know that over 30% of students drop out of high school each year? This is not just a problem for parents, teachers and schools… this is a problem for society and the nation as a whole. We can do something about it!

Community Learning Center has a K – 8 private school that offers a different approach to teaching children. Small classes, individualized programs, and a phonics-based reading program that works! Florida’s Step Up for Students scholarships can cover most of the tuition and fees. Private school education can be more affordable than you think!

In 1957, a small group of Florida sheriffs saw the need for a residential care facility for troubled boys. With a little bit of cash and a big dream, they pooled their wisdom and efforts and watched their dream become a reality. Within a short period of time, they were helping many young boys turn their lives around to become productive and responsible adults.

Our goal is to develop young men and women who, because of the Florida Sheriffs Youth Ranches, are able to face the future with a sense of direction, ability and hope. We have been achieving the mission of preventing delinquency and developing lawful, resilient and productive citizens.

The Foundation for a Drug-Free WorldThe Foundation for a Drug-Free World

The Foundation for a Drug-Free World is a nonprofit public benefit corporation that empowers youth and adults with factual information about drugs so they can make informed decisions and live drug-free.

No one, especially a young person, likes to be lectured about what he or she can or cannot do. Thus, we provide the facts that empower youth to choose not to take drugs in the first place. Additionally our Truth About Drugs campaign consists of activities that they can join which popularize drug-free living. These activities are simple, effective and can involve people of all ages.

In accomplishing our mission, we provide affordable housing, educational training in homeownership and household budgeting, Fair Housing counseling, and other related housing services to Pinellas County residents.
